SORRY ABOUT THE 4:3 SQUISH OF THIS 16:9 VIDEO. WHEN I SOLVE IT, I'LL RE-POST IT. UNTIL THEN, ENJOY! This is the incredible lead-in to Where The Streets Have No Name. I knew that "Streets" was coming next, but I NEVER would have imagined that they would start it out with Amazing Grace. It was SO amazing. It brought tears to my eyes. And NO, Im NOT ashamed to admit that. Bono knows how to remind us in subtle--and often not-so-subtle--ways that he loves God, and it still means so much to me, every single time he does it. I was hoping that he'd take a leaf from an older tour and say, "Father, open my lips, so that I may shew forth Thy praise.", but "Amazing Grace" will do just fine. Praise The Lord! Anyway, I was looking forward to "Streets" with tears in my eyes, and "Amazing Grace" just further magnified that... Ah, "Streets"...that song always gets me. After all, Im old enough to remember when it came out Anyway, the whole concert was incredible. Indeed, it was the biggest show EVER. It took until now to top the size of the Pink Floyd, which I saw back in 1994. It was worth the wait. I have to say that I think that they could have used their setup even better than they did—at least in the first half of the show. I think that Pink Floyd used their stage and lighting better than anything or anyone that Ive ever seen. Pink Floyd DID feel really, REALLY huge. It definitely didnt have that up close and personal feeling that the U2 show had. It wasnt anywhere near as intimate a ...
Winston Churchill vociferously opposed British integration into the European Union and refused to support the Conservative Partys moves to drag this country into the Common Market - more evidence that if he were alive today, he would be in the British National Party. Churchill was emphatic that Britain should not become part of the European integration, according to official government records. From 1962 onwards, he openly opposed British membership of the Common Market and the abandonment of the old commonwealth. He also refused to publicly support MacMillans attempt to take Britain into the Common Market. In cabinet memorandum 29, dated November 1953, Prime Minister Churchill said unequivocally that membership of the Common Market would forfeit our insular or commonwealth wide character. In the House of Commons on May 11, 1953, Churchill said We are with Europe but not of it; we are linked but not compromised. We are associated but not absorbed. If Britain must choose between Europe and the open sea, she must always choose the open sea. The British National Party is the only party which holds these positions as general policy. The Tory party of today has thoroughly rejected them and has embraced the EU, as has Labour and the Lib-Dems. * Churchill also warned of the dangers of fundamentalist Islam, according to his grandson, Winston S. Churchill III. In a speech delivered to the John Locke Foundations 16th anniversary dinner in Raleigh, North Carolina on February 10 ...

Chiodos performing "If I Cut My Hair, Hawaii Will Sink" at Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Lyrics: You keep tugging on my shirt, just to pull me closer. One single step at a time. Your skin against mine. I can just feel you wondering. Fit to be tied, Fit to be tied. Fit to be, fit to be tied. I feel weak. Thrown in wide open spaces. We turn ourselves inside out, expose what we're afraid to see. And I know what you're thinking. I tell myself. I keep pulling I keep pulling Now grown numb. Petrified, I think. No, no you don't mean it. You simply say it, because you like the way that it sounds I feel weak. Thrown in wide open spaces. We turn ourselves inside out, expose what we're afraid to see. And I know what you're thinking. I feel weak, And I give up. And I give up. Sell it well. C'mon and sell it, sell it. Sell it well. C'mon and sell it, sell it. I feel weak
