Yesterday, Fox News' Deputy Managing Editor in the DC bureau, Bill Sammon, wrote a blog post saying that the Los Angeles Times was "on firm journalistic ground in refusing to make" public a video tape of a party featuring Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Rashid Khalidi because it had a confidential agreement with the source who provided the tape. But Sammon's declaration didn't stop the rest of the network from attacking the newspaper.

His work first gained worldwide recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai Massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. The White House Press Corps is the group of journalists or correspondents usually stationed at the White House in Washington, DC to cover the president of the United States, White House events and news briefings. Their offices are located in the West Wing. The White House Press Secretary or a deputy generally holds a weekday news briefing, which takes place in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room. Often a smaller group of reporters known as the White House press pool is assembled to report back to their colleagues on events where the venue would make open coverage logistically difficult. When a new US president is elected, some news organizations change their correspondents, most often to the reporter who had been assigned to cover the new president during the preceding campaign. Jon Scott on ACORN "Happening Now" 11:23 Interview Topic: ACORN TRANSCRIPT: JANE SKINNER: In Pennsylvania, a former ACORN worker may take the stand in a voter registration fraud case. A lawyer for the state Republican party there says this former employee will tell how ACORN pays cash to workers and sets quotas for voter registration forms they bring in. The Pennsylvania GOP is suing, to force the community group to release its voter registration lists. The Judge could make a ruling today, we'll keep our eyes on it. JON SCOTT: ACORN is backtracking big time from a claim it registered 1.3 million new voters. The community group now admits, the number is closer to 450000. This wild exaggeration, Republicans say, is further proof that ACORN is up to no good. [...]If a group says they signed up a million, a million three voters, they really only got, what, about a third of that, there's nothing illegal about that is there? BILL SAMMON:Well they turned in 1.3 million names, they're just saying that only 400000 of them are actually legitimate... SCOTT: OOOOHHH SAMMON; They're saying and another 400000 are highly questionable, and within that universe of the highly questionable 400000, they are now ACORN and Project Vote are saying, that they have found 15000 fraudulent registrations. Now remember, the 2000 election that gave us our current president, was decided by 537 votes in Florida, ACORN is admitting to 15000 fraudulent registrations. Now other groups are looking at these ...

Google Tech Talks April 22, 2009 ABSTRACT This interactive talk will examine two major questions: What is the mind? and How can we create a healthy mind? We'll examine the interactions among the mind, the brain, and human relationships and explore ways to create a healthy mind, an integrated brain, and mindful, empathic relationships. Here is one surprising finding: the vast majority (about 95%) of mental health practitioners around the globe, and even many scientists and philosophers focusing on the mind, do not have a definition of what the mind is! In this talk, well offer a working definition of the mind and practical implications for how to perceive and strengthen the mind itself—a learnable skill called mindsight. Then well build on this perspective to explore ways that the mind, the brain, and our relationships are influenced by digital information flow and also how they can be moved toward healthy functioning.
